About the CHP

The Christian Heritage Party (CHP) is the only pro-life and pro-family federal political party in Canada, and the only federal party that endorses the Judeo-Christian principles enshrined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which says, "Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law..."

The CHP has been established for over 20 years and is Canada's 6th largest political party. We represent the values Canada was founded upon! We uphold families, health and security, and Canadian sovereignty. The party embodies the true freedoms our soldiers fought and died for in the World Wars; freedoms that do not exclude common sense and reason as is so freely done today.

The CHP was not started because there are no Christians in the other parties - there are. However, party discipline in Ottawa is so restrictive that Christian members of Parliament in the major parties are not permitted to bring their deepest convictions into parliamentary debates. They are told by their caucuses what to say, and when. Therefore, we saw a great need for a national political party that would encourage the Biblical perspectives upon which Canada was founded.

The CHP wants safe communities, a strong economy, and a secure future for our children and grandchildren. We believe our current government is not doing a good job of this, and a better solution is needed. The CHP is that better solution!

Please, don't assume you know what this party is about at first glance! Nobody's being converted here. We do NOT want to use the power of the legislature to compel others to accept our beliefs! As Christians, we must seek to serve, not rule. Jesus said, "He who would be your leader must become the servant of all." We want to make ourselves obedient to the authority and discipline of Scripture, where we find the wisdom which will better enable us to serve ALL Canadians -- both those who agree with us, and those who don't. Take the time to read the information presented here yourself, then decide. Both Christians and non-Christians alike support our policies.
