The independent and nonpartisan C.D. Howe Institute says that Canadians need to have more babies to avoid an economic crisis as Canada’s aging “baby boomers” retire and leave a gap in the workforce. They also state that immigration is not the magic “fix-all” that it is made out to be. In fact, they claim that even vastly increased numbers of immigrants had “startlingly little effect” on the overall age structure in Canada.
AsĀ we stand now as a nation, there will be more people retired than in the workforce within the next 10-20 years. This means there will be a smaller number of working-age people to make money, pay taxes and support the pension and health care needs of an increasingly older population.
CHP Canada is unique among Canadian federal political parties in that we are aware of and have been responding to this demographic trend with policies that address the looming crisis.
CHP Canada encourages marriage and will put an end to no-fault divorce.
CHP Canada encourages having children, and supports families through our family-friendly childcare allowance of $1000 per month.
CHP Canada promotes adoption instead of abortion to prevent the elimination of our citizenry.
CHP Canada encourages productivity with our Fair Tax, which will create jobs and provide a major boost to the competitiveness of Canadian industry; and our Personal Security Account which ensures that Canadians will be prepared for retirement and/or work force interruptions.
CHP Canada is a leader among Canadian political parties with policies to deal with the challenges Canada is facing. It’s time Canadians realize the parties currently in Parliament are not doing a good enough job for this country. It’s time for better solutions and CHP Canada.
